GTA V's cheat codes are unchanged since 2013 and still work in Story Mode on every platform. They are the single most-searched GTA V topic after the game itself. Below is the verified, officially-supported input method for each code. Cheats disable achievements and trophies for that session and never work in GTA Online.
PC — console command cheats
On PC, open the console with the ~ (tilde) key and type the word exactly as shown, then press Enter.
Combat & survival
PAINKILLER — invincibility (5 min). TURTLE — refill health and armor. TOOLUP — give all weapons and ammo. HOTHANDS — super punch. DEADEYE — slow-mo aiming. CATCHME — sprint faster. GOTGILLS — swim faster. POWERUP — recharge special ability.
Wanted level
FUGITIVE — lower wanted level by one star. LAWYERUP — raise wanted level by one star. BUZZOFF — remove nearby helicopters and attack choppers.
World & weather
MAKEITRAIN — cycle to rainy weather. LIQUOR — drunk mode (wobbly controls). SLOWMO — slow-motion (engine). SKYFALL — spawn above the map with a parachute (no fall damage).
Vehicle spawns
BANDIT — BMX. COMET — Comet sports car. HOLEIN1 — Golf Caddy. ROCKET — PCJ-600 motorcycle. OFFROAD — Sanchez dirt bike. BARNSTORM — stunt plane. FLYSPRAY — crop duster. TRASHED — Trashmaster.
All platforms — phone cheat numbers
On PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Series and PC you can also open the in-game phone, dial 1-999-, then spell the word on the keypad. These are the official Rockstar phone cheats.

How phone cheats work
The digits after 1-999- map to the letters of the cheat word (e.g. PAINKILLER -> 724-654-5537). Dial it like a real number from the in-game cellphone. The effect is identical to the PC console command.
Rules every player must know
These limits are enforced by the game and Rockstar — there is no workaround.
Single-player only
Cheats function only in Story Mode. They are completely disabled in GTA Online, and attempting to force them there risks a ban.
Achievements & saves
Using a cheat disables achievements/trophies for that play session. Your saves still work, but you cannot earn trophies until you reload without cheats active.
Console button combos
PlayStation and Xbox also support classic button-combination cheats entered on the controller; the exact sequences are listed on Rockstar's official support page. If a combo does not register, use the phone cheat above instead.
