How It Works
We use a parametric model: FPS = 60 x (GPU index / game demand) x resolution factor x preset factor. GPU index is an illustrative relative score (GTX 1650 = 1.0 up to RTX 4090 = 7.5). Game demand reflects how heavy the title is (esports near 0.5, Cyberpunk 2.2). Resolution factors are 1.0 at 1080p, 0.56 at 1440p, 0.27 at 4K. Preset factors are Ultra 0.7, High 1.0, Medium 1.2, Low 1.6 relative to High. We compute each preset's FPS and pick the highest one at or above your target.
What Should You Do?
Aim for a preset that clears your target with 10-15% headroom, because real scenes dip below the average. If no preset reaches your target, lower resolution before dropping to Low everywhere, or enable upscaling (see the DLSS/FSR tool). For competitive play, prioritize a stable high refresh rate over visual detail by choosing Medium or Low.

Are these FPS numbers measured?
No. They come from an illustrative parametric model with assumed GPU and game scores. Treat them as planning estimates, not benchmarks.
Why is 4K so much lower than 1080p?
4K has four times the pixels of 1080p; the model applies a 0.27 factor, reflecting the heavy GPU load at that resolution.
What if my GPU is not listed?
Pick the closest relative performer. The index values are rough tiers, so a card between two listed ones will land between their results.
Should I use Ultra if it meets my target?
Only if you want max visuals and your frame rate stays above target during heavy scenes. Otherwise High is the safer daily setting.
How do I raise FPS without lowering presets?
Enable DLSS or FSR upscaling, which can add 30-80% FPS at a small visual cost. See the upscaling comparison tool.
Does this include CPU bottleneck?
No. If your CPU is weak, real FPS will be lower than shown, especially at 1080p with a strong GPU.
