How It Works
Total latency is modeled as render latency (1000 / FPS) plus an 8 ms display-and-input baseline. To meet a target latency T, you need FPS of at least 1000 / (T - 8). We compute FPS for each preset using the same parametric model as the FPS tool, then pick the highest preset whose FPS clears that requirement. V-Sync is excluded because it adds up to a full frame of delay and should be off for competitive latency.
What Should You Do?
For competitive games, disable V-Sync and any frame cap, and use the lowest preset that keeps FPS above your refresh rate. A higher refresh monitor also lowers perceived latency. If the model says even Low is too slow, you need a stronger GPU or a lower resolution, since settings alone cannot close a large gap.

It is an illustrative input-plus-display lag assumption, not measured. Real displays and mice vary, especially high-refresh panels which are lower.

Does ping count in this number?
No, this is render-to-display latency on your machine. Network ping adds separately in online play; see the multiplayer simulator.

Only with a very strong GPU and esports titles. The model shows most setups land 13-30 ms, so manage expectations.
Is this model accurate for my exact PC?
No. It is parametric with assumed scores. Use it to compare presets, not as a measured latency reading.
